Office Staff:
Angel Tracy – Administrative Assistant
About:
The Public Administrator becomes the court-appointed guardian and/or conservator for individuals who are legally disabled and incapacitated and are unable to provide for their own personal and financial affairs, as declared by the Court. Daily responsibilities include communication with doctors and residential facilities to coordinate patient care, as well as arranging and accounting for the financial aspects of the patients’ care, including receipt of personal monies and paying of bills. The Public Administrator prepares a yearly settlement for each person under guardianship/conservatorship which is filed with and approved by the Webster County Court.
Another principal role of the Public Administrator is to serve as a personal representative in the estates of deceased individuals as appointed by the Probate Court. As with guardianship and conservatorship, the Public Administrator is assigned to this role when no other suitable representative is available. In these cases, the Public Administrator carries out the case-specific directives of the Probate Court regarding asset investigation and distribution.
